Industry Veteran Mark Gartner Joins OpenBOM as CRO to Power Growth and Partnership Momentum

OpenBOM, a leading cloud-native PDM and PLM platform for engineering and manufacturing, today announced that Mark Gartner has joined the company as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), effective immediately. Gartner brings more than 30 years of experience across manufacturing and CAD/PLM software industries to lead OpenBOM’s next stage of growth.

OpenBOM has recently demonstrated impressive adoption among small- and medium-sized manufacturing companies developing complex, multi-disciplinary products. The company was recently selected in the 2024 Top 50 CAD and PLM Products list by G2, supported by hundreds of positive online reviews, underscoring its growing influence in the market.

“OpenBOM has grown through a product-led go-to-market approach and has accumulated over 60,000 registrations on its platform, which creates a solid foundation for continued growth,” said Oleg Shilovitsky, co-founder and CEO of OpenBOM. “Mark’s leadership experience across manufacturing and software sales will help us build on this momentum as we scale globally.”

An Experienced Leader with a Passion for Manufacturing

Gartner started his career in the manufacturing industry, gaining firsthand experience with the challenges faced by engineers and production teams. He later transitioned to the software sector, dedicating the last two decades to helping manufacturers improve data management and collaboration with CAD and PLM solutions.

His career includes senior leadership roles at leading CAD/PLM resellers such as IMAGINiT Technologies, and SolidCAD, where he served as Sales Director and National Director. Gartner is widely recognized for building high-performing sales organizations, driving adoption of engineering software solutions, and leading regional and national growth initiatives.

Building on OpenBOM’s Momentum

With recent developments in online cloud PDM services, xBOM services, and the introduction of AI-powered capabilities, OpenBOM has laid a strong foundation for its next growth phase. The company’s recent growth in contract size reflects increasing market trust and creates a unique opportunity to scale its reach across SMB and SME manufacturers.

“SMB and SME manufacturing businesses are struggling with data organization and the lack of modern data management and intelligence platforms,” said Mark Gartner, CRO of OpenBOM. “This is an opportunity to address a decades-old problem with new data management, collaboration, and AI-powered tools. I’m excited to join OpenBOM at this pivotal moment.”

OpenBOM currently serves hundreds of companies and tens of thousands of engineers worldwide. Its product-led growth strategy has established a strong user base and created significant opportunities to scale both sales and partnerships.

At OpenBOM, partnerships are a central pillar for scaling operations and delivering value to customers. OpenBOM provides a global, scalable cloud platform and invites partners who can bring local expertise and tailored services to help manufacturers adopt digital transformation more quickly and effectively. Coming from a partner ecosystem himself, one of Mark’s priorities as CRO will be to strengthen and expand OpenBOM’s global partner network—building momentum that empowers partners to deliver transformative solutions to customers worldwide.
