Quick Tip: Ribbon Copy-Paste in OpenBOM

Productivity is key when it comes to user experience. This is why everyone likes Excels and Spreadsheets in general. It is so easy to edit data, add new information, copy/paste, change, and do many other things. The ease of use comes with the prices of messy data and lost information.

When we started OpenBOM, we decided to develop the best of two words – ease of editing, copy/paste of data, combined with specific data properties (images, lists, checkboxes) and also structured data management features taking care of product structures, hierarchies, and BOM transformations.

So far I’m happy to say we are doing very well when it comes to data editing. In this very short video, you can see a basic set of editing that can be done in OpenBOM – a combination of filters and ease of ribbon copy/paste.

Watch the video.

Conclusion

I will be bringing very short under one-minute videos giving you quick tips about the data editing and other operations  in OpenBOM and performing operations that in many PLM and ERP systems will be very hard to do. Enjoy the video. More to come. Have a good weekend!
