OpenBOM Data Modeling Demo – Part 1

Today, I want to start a series of demo videos to talk about the OpenBOM data management platform and capabilities. OpenBOM provides a set of very unique data management features. To learn these features will help you to start using OpenBOM more efficiently and create a data management strategy for your company.

The storyboard of this features is OpenBOM documentation article – OpenBOM Data Management Fundamentals.

In this video, I will talk about the following OpenBOM reference instance data model.

Here are topics for today’s video:

1- Multi-tenant data management platform

2- Data Properties

3- OpenBOM Reference-Instance Model

4- How to create OpenBOM catalog

5- How to create a simple Bill of Materials using OpenBOM Catalog

Conclusion

OpenBOM™ is a multi-tenant data management platform optimized for product information and lifecycle management. The foundation of the platform is reference-instance data model allowing to create flexible data models for References (Items, Parts, Assemblies) and Instances (Products, Bill of Materials, Assemblies). OpenBOM allows to fully customize data schemas on reference objects and on instance objects in an intuitive Excel-like style, which makes it very easy for customers to create a model of product information for a specific company, import data and write business applications.

Let’s get to know each other better. If you live in the Greater Boston area, I invite you for a coffee together (coffee is on me). If not nearby, let’s have a virtual coffee session — I will figure out how to send you a real coffee.
