Demystifying Modern PLM – Adoption (Webinar Recording)

Welcome to the next session of the “Demystifying Modern PLM” event. Our online event is a set of four webinars for manufacturing companies, engineers, contractors, and suppliers who work in a modern online industrial world. If you missed our previous session you can get a recording here: Demystify Modern PLM – Product.

In this session, we will speak about PLM Adoption and Training. As we discovered in the previous sessions, technology makes a big difference, but people can screw up the best technology ever. We will share how Modern PLM technologies, products, and marketing are tuned together to help companies to adopt these new methods.

The Overall Event

In this web event the co-founders of OpenBOM™, a leading SaaS digital network-based global collaborative platform, and Share PLM, a leading education technology company, will focus on sharing their knowledge and experience of developing modern PLM systems.

These four interactive sessions will cover the Technology, Product, Marketing, and Education aspects of modern product development environments, and focus on best practices that both companies have gathered through their work with customers across the globe.

Adoption

The trajectory of traditional PLM development put adoption in the second phase. Software vendors usually sold slide decks with the great future and then companies and implementation consultants together with PLM service providers were coming to implement what was sold before. It caused many delayed projects, misalignments, failures, and delayed projects. The reality of the implementation was not in sync with the slide decks presented in the boardrooms.

Modern PLM systems make the adoption process different. It all comes down to a single word “experience” we discussed over the course of previous sessions of Demystifying Modern PLM Events. The SaaS technology made systems available instantly to everyone, online training materials, early connection to the sales and marketing team, and ability to provide online support combined with the intelligence of modern platforms changed the experience of the customers.

This in turn changed the adoption curve and relationships between vendors and customers. In this webinar session Helena Gutierrez, CEO, and co-founder of Share PLM shares the experience and knowledge she has in many implementations of modern PLM systems.
