PREVIEW: OpenBOM + Trace Parts Integration Adds Hundreds of Millions Models To OpenBOM SaaS Application

Connecting to online data sources and extracting information is on top of people’s minds these days. The fast-paced world that we live in has made it so that everyone needs information right here and right now.

At OpenBOM, we are working on how to bring various sources of information and integrate it to create a Bill of Materials – faster, better, and with fewer mistakes.

What’s in OpenBOM for TraceParts?

I’m excited to preview a new feature coming to OpenBOM – integration with TraceParts catalog. It allows us the ability to bring data from TraceParts as well as link OpenBOM Items to TraceParts items. The feature will be available in the OpenBOM “Import Part” function.

Users will be able to navigate and search using TraceParts user interface to find and insert the Part in OpenBOM catalogs.

Check the following video to get an idea of what you can expect…

Conclusion

OpenBOM is expanding the integration with online content providers. TraceParts is an important next step for us. Last month we introduced Octopart integration and now we are expanding the content scope OpenBOM users can access by introducing TraceParts. Let us know what you think and how it can be improved.
