OpenBOM Subscription and Pricing Updates for 2025

At OpenBOM, we continuously look at how to enhance our services, aligning them with the evolving needs and values of our customers. For 2025, we are excited to unveil updates to our subscription and pricing structure. These changes reflect our commitment to delivering innovative solutions and exceptional value while supporting seamless collaboration and enhanced productivity for our users.

Our refined subscription plans have been designed to answer the diverse requirements of engineering and manufacturing teams at various stages of growth.

Refined Subscription Tiers

Team Subscription

The Team Subscription targets engineering teams and manufacturing organizations, offering a collaborative workspace to organize product data, streamline inventory management, and optimize RFQ/PO processes. It includes features like collaborative BOM management, inventory tracking tools, and easy integration with downstream business systems. This subscription is tailored to bridge the gap between engineering and business, enabling efficient management of product data without the complexity of higher-tier plans.

Company Subscription

For organizations seeking a comprehensive PDM/PLM solution, the Company Subscription is ideal. It offers tools for CAD file management, handling complex cross-disciplinary BOMs, advanced change management workflows, and collaboration. Enhanced reporting and analytics further support data-driven decision-making, making this plan perfect for teams requiring structured workflows and higher levels of control.

Enterprise Subscription

The Enterprise Subscription caters to large-scale organizations with complex integration and security needs. This tier includes advanced security capabilities, custom integrations with ERP and CRM systems, scalability for large datasets, and dedicated account management. It is tailored for enterprises operating at scale, ensuring robust workflows and enterprise-grade functionality.

Trial Enhancements

OpenBOM will continue to offer an instant 14-day trial (no credit card or communication with the sales team is required—simply register on the website). The trial includes all standard OpenBOM functionality.

New for 2025 is the introduction of a consulting service during the trial period, designed to help companies gain a full experience of OpenBOM in the shortest possible time.

Additional Enhancements

We are also introducing several key enhancements to maximize the value of OpenBOM for our users.

  • Implementation Consulting for Trial Accounts: Free trial users will now benefit from a new consulting service designed to guide them through onboarding. During the trial, access to advanced features like the REST API and enterprise integration capabilities will be provided, helping users explore OpenBOM’s full potential and select the best subscription tier.
  • Design Projects Update: Design projects will no longer be available for free or team subscription accounts. This adjustment emphasizes the value of our premium subscriptions while focusing on the feature set for other tiers.

Impact on Existing Customers

We deeply value our loyal customers and want to assure them that existing subscription plans (free and paid) will not be affected. Your current features and pricing will remain unchanged as we roll out these updates.

Why These Changes?

Integration of features and functions as well as focusing on improved user experience was the main reason behind the enhancements. As such deep integration of Design Projects with other xBOM and Change Management functions led us to the decision of restructuring these subscriptions.

Here is a short summary of how the new subscription structure will help our customers:

  • Expand access to advanced features during trial periods.
  • Provide tailored solutions for diverse organizational needs.
  • Enhance collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, and business teams.
  • Establish a clear, scalable pricing model that supports innovation and customer success.
  • Focus premium features on users who derive maximum value from them, creating a more efficient platform.

Conclusion

We believe these changes will significantly enhance value for our customers, enabling greater efficiency and success in their engineering and manufacturing workflows. OpenBOM remains committed to evolving its platform to meet the dynamic needs of the industry and supporting your journey toward a more connected, efficient future.
