WEBINAR: Using OpenBOM Templates to Improve Efficiency of Repeatable Processes

Everyone needs data, but nobody wants to manage this data. When it comes to data-driven processes, the ability to populate the data needed for product design, production planning, and purchasing is next to none. Manufacturing companies are looking at how to establish a repeatable process for setting up product structure, making cost assessments, purchasing planning, and management changes.

Very often, contract engineers, designers, and manufacturers are working on repeatable processes. Once the product is done, data can be shared or shipped to the customer. A new project is coming and to start everything from scratch is very painful.

This is how the topic of “templates” is getting into significance. Engineers are looking for tools capable to repeat the same process with a new set of data from another customer. Therefore, efficiency and productivity are the two most important elements of data management tools.

At OpenBOM we have templates to support the process of creating data in a repeatable form. Recent improvements in OpenBOM templates made the process of creating BOMs from templates much easier. It includes formulas, catalogs, and many other elements. Combined with OpenBOM CAD add-ins it forms a single “one-click” process of creating BOM and everything you need to be included from a customer CAD assembly.

Concusion

At OpenBOM, we are looking how to streamline the process to make it easier. One of the elements to do so is the OpenBOM template mechanism. The goal of this mechanism is to allow to make a repeatable tedious process of data collection, assembly of the bill of materials, calculation, and reporting to work in a single click.

Check our how OpenBOM helps thousands of users and manufacturing companies to create Bill of Materials and manage purchases.
