VIDEO – Introduction to OpenBOM Change Management

Im super excited to introduce you to OpenBOM’s enhancements that Changes Management functions. The new functionality expanding PLM features and capabilities of OpenBOM provides support for advanced lifecycle management, change management, and configuration control. This will become available in OpenBOM’s Company Subscription. 

What is new in Change Management?

OpenBOM’s update later this week and now is a great opportunity to give you more information. The new features that will be added to the Company Subscription are:

  • Change Management (ECO) 
  • Change Order Dashboard 
  • Approvals workflows 

We will be coming with a series of videos about OpenBOM Change Management. Today, we will start with the basics. 

Change Management Basics 

OpenBOM change management includes 3 mechanisms – Revisions, Change Request and Change Order. Check the picture below that describes these basic definitions and their roles and functions.Video Demonstration

In the following video, you can see an introduction to OpenBOM Change Management including new Change Order and Change Request functions. 

Conclusion

New enhancements in the change management mechanism brings OpenBOM to the next level of what processes can be supported and makes OpenBOM an affordable, easy-to-use, and configurable tool for configuration management capable of managing multi-disciplinary BOM structure and managing change orders and approvals. This is just the first step, watch out for later this year and in January/2022 for more updates about approval workflows and change management collaboration.
