Preview: New OpenBOM Dashboard

At OpenBOM we are crazy about how to provide the simplest possible user experience and help users and customers to navigate, search, slice, and dice the data in the most useful way. Therefore, I’m super excited to preview a new OpenBOM dashboard we are going to introduce in a new OpenBOM release coming soon.

New Dashboard

We’ve been puzzled by the idea of a flexible and customizable dashboard capable to provide the access to the variety of data in OpenBOM directly without the need to navigate, click and open BOMs and catalogs.

A new dashboard will have both (1) grid and (2) tiled options and it will be controlled by a custom user-user defined view, so you have full control over what data will be displayed in the dashboard.

Grid Mode

Tile Mode

The dashboard will be search-driven and support the full-text search for all item and instance properties. Another feature of the dashboard will be the integrated Item Info panel allowing users to navigate directly to BOM, catalog, and “where used” queries.

Conclusion

OpenBOM vision is to provide a simple, robust and powerful user experience. A coming new dashboard supports a custom user-defined view with a flexible layout presenting any data you might need in the application. The new dashboard is coming. Stay tuned…

Meantime, you can register for free to OpenBOM and create a new account.

Best, Oleg
