OpenBOM Enterprise Subscription – From Custom Integrations To BOM Services and Custom Hosting

Most manufacturing companies have realized the importance of using technology to increase efficiency and modernize their production process. If you’re a manufacturer, you know that staying ahead of the competition is essential to success. That’s why it’s important to make sure you have access to the latest technology and tools.

At OpenBOM we provide a wide range of subscription services to help manufacturers of any size and scale organize product information, integrate data, connect people and manage processes. Check my earlier articles about the existing range of OpenBOM subscription services:

  • Free User (non commercial)
  • Team
  • Company
  • Enterprise

[UPDATE 2025: Navigate an updated list of OpenBOM subscriptions]

Enterprise subscription is the top offer of OpenBOM and it provides a scalable a-la-carte set of services and products that can be used together with other subscription services OpenBOM provides. By subscribing to an enterprise-level software package, you’ll have access to all the features and updates the software has to offer. Plus, you’ll be able to take advantage of additional support, custom development options, and customize deployment options. So if you want to stay ahead of the curve, an enterprise subscription is what you need.

Custom Integrations

OpenBOM provides a wide range of integrations to different systems – CAD, PDM, ERP, and others. Many of these integrations are available out of the box and included in professional user, team, and company plans. However, integrations with complex CAD integrations (eg. CATIA, Creo, NX) as well as PDM and ERP integrations (eg. Oracle NetSuite) are available as part of an enterprise subscription plan for an additional fee.

OpenBOM REST API and special integration APIs and tools allow building rich integrations including automatic data extraction, user interface embedding, and additional features. Contact OpenBOM support or partners for more information. You can also build integration by yourself using OpenBOM public REST API.

Integrated BOM Services

New manufacturing business models are the result of digital transformation in product development, procurement, supply chain, and production process. However, the improvement can not be done without making such data assets as “Bill of Materials” and related information online for business processes, analytics, and decision-making capabilities.

If you’re looking to integrate OpenBOM into your enterprise application architecture, you need to check OpenBOM online service that can be used to provide a reliable and integrated approach to handover data and processes in the organization.

In the first step, the manufacturing industry will establish BOM services to perform simple data representation and also speed up current processes (eg. revision control).

The new manufacturing world brings the next level of complexity – to have accurate information not only for the company itself but also to use this information to optimize their processes internally and externally. New business processes can involve a new generation of BOM services to perform optimization of these processes using new forms of digital assets and data.

Here are some examples of BOM web services:

  • Item Catalog
  • Bill of Materials
  • BOM share
  • Costing calculation
  • (others)

These examples show you how much data assets and business functions can be available online to perform analysis, orders, and other processes using this data.

Custom Hosting Plans

OpenBOM multi-tenant data and system architecture can be hosted separately by a group of companies to provide an isolated multi-tenant environment. As such you can think about an environment where an OEM and a group of suppliers are working together. In such a case, OpenBOM hosts the platform for OEM, and registration is limited to a specific named set of companies by invitation.

Custom hosting can be done on different IaaS infrastructures – AWS, Azure, and GCP.

Conclusion

OpenBOM Enterprise Subscription is a collection of technologies, integrations, and tools to provide a high-performance environment for enterprise customers. Custom integrations are available on top of the existing standard, professional team, and company subscriptions. Custom hosting is a separate option to make the OpenBOM platform available for large enterprise customers.
