Meet OpenBOM At Onshape Live 2022

We are excited to share that OpenBOM is coming to the Onshape Live 2022 virtual event which will be happening in a few months. Last year Onshape Live was the first virtual event that brought the community of Onshape users together to share the experience of Onshape native live environment. And it is going to happen again.

Onshape Live 2022

Here is the registration to the event and the event trailer. The event is online and free for everyone.

This year, our second annual user conference, Onshape Live ’22, will be held during two special viewing times to give attendees from around the world a chance to experience it live. Join us during:

  • The Americas Event: Wednesday, March 2, beginning at 12 p.m. EST
  • The European Event: Thursday, March 3, beginning at 10 a.m. GMT

We’re reaching further into the Onshape community by also providing closed caption translations in German, French, and Italian for every session during the European Event.

OpenBOM Integrated application for Onshape

At OpenBOM we bring the power of online data management and real-time collaboration to Onshape users. OpenBOM SaaS PLM for Onshape supports an integrated process of capturing data in real-time, transforming the design into engineering BOM, managing multi-view BOMs using OpenBOM user-defined views, and connecting procurement and manufacturing planning via integrated Order BOM, POs, RFQs with vendors, suppliers, and contractors. OpenBOM also provides integrations with ERP systems (eg. Oracle NetSuite OpenBOM Suite App and others).

OpenBOM Onshape Integration is available for all premium subscription levels and OpenBOM provides special support for non-commercial and educational progress. Check out the features and functionality here.

Here are a few videos. The first one is about installing OpenBOM for Onshape.

My favorite OpenBOM Onshape functionality is the ability to map data from Onshape to OpenBOM using the Onshape categories mechanism.

OpenBOM Multi-Disciplinary BOM for mixed CAD environment

One of the strongest features of OpenBOM for Onshape customers is the ability to create a comprehensive multiple-disciplinary BOM created from multiple CAD sources. OpenBOM is integrated with all CAD systems and capabilities to automate the process of product structure creation from multiple sources.

As manufacturing companies and engineers are moving to the cloud, you can have many existing CAD environments (other MCAD, ECAD, PCB tools, and others). For many Onshape customers, the mixed environment (eg. with Solidworks) is the reality. OpenBOM brings you a unique way to handle data for such mixed environments and create a full product structure of the product(s).

Conclusion

Onshape represents a modern trend in the native online (SaaS) product support for engineers and manufacturing companies. Collaboration is the biggest value of the Onshape environment together with the embedded PDM capabilities.

At OpenBOM, we provide a unique patented BOM collaboration with functions allowing a group of people – engineers, procurement, production, manufacturing planners, and others to access a single source of information such as product structure, vendors, documents, production planning, RFQ, POs and many others.

We look forward to seeing you at Onshape Live 2022 event. In the meantime make sure to REGISTER FOR FREE and check out how OpenBOM can help you with your Onshape projects.

Best, Oleg
