Heads up – New Property Type “Date”

We are expanding property types in OpenBOM. If you missed an earlier article, check this out – we are adding Currency property.  One more coming enhancement in OpenBOM is Date property.

The mechanism to add property is the same. You need to choose “Date” type. And as you do, the date property will be added. It gives you a nice widget to add date.

Default date settings are aligned the U.S date format. And you can change it via User Profile Settings

The following video can give you some idea of how date works.

Conclusion

New property type “date” is a great addition to the list of new features coming in OpenBOM. Date property is a foundation for coming enhancement in OpenBOM filtering mechanism – stay tuned, which will allow period filter and eventually is going to bring BOM effectivity functions.

Best, Oleg

PS. Let’s get to know each other better. If you live in the Greater Boston area, I invite you for a coffee together (coffee is on me). If not nearby, let’s have a virtual coffee session — I will figure out how to send you a real coffee.
