BOM Educational Webinars – Register and learn more about Bill of Materials Management

Want to learn more about how to manage data about the product you design, manufacturing and support? As much as BOM sounds like a simple thing (it is just a list of parts you can see), BOM management can introduce many questions, dilemmas and decisions you better be prepared for.

At OpenBOM we are taking a topic of knowledge sharing and education to the next level. We’re passionate about how we can help manufacturing companies to learn more about how to manage information such as the Bill of Materials, Catalogs, integrate with CAD and other enterprise systems.

In our weekly webinars, we are talking about these topics. These are 30 min marketing free zone events where you can learn more about BOM Management.

Topics range is from how to manage multiple Bill of Materials and Change Management basics to topics that always drives debates such as Do I need to put a BOM to my drawings? Recording of webinars is available on our YouTube channel and slide decks are available on slide share. Check this out.

This week’s BOM Educational webinar is about how to manage different data with the Bill of Materials. You might have too much stuff in your BOM. Maybe it’s necessary but is there a better way to organize it all?

BOM Excels are messy and collecting tons of stuff over time. Before moving into the more organized world, you better figure out your legacy. What is really needed? And what is in your BOM Excel by “historical reasons”. These are important things to do.

Join Steve Hess as he presents an effective way to identify those properties which belong in your BOM.  Can a BOM be as simple as Part Number and Quantity and still provide all the information necessary to your manufacturing team?  What about Rev or ECO #, can they be tracked in the BOM? The answer is yes.

Conclusion

Bill of Materials is sometimes defined as a simple thing – a list of parts. In fact, BOM management is a complex discipline that requires planning and preparations. Before you jump from your Excel to another system (it doesn’t matter if it is OpenBOM or anything else), you better get some preparation done.

In this week’s webinar, we will talk about what data needs to be managed in BOM and how to do it right. Join us this week for 30 min or free learning about BOM management. REGISTER HERE
