Alexa, Make A BOM – OpenBOM Introduces Live Amazon Connection With Alexa Support

I’m super excited to share the news that OpenBOM is expanding the way you can connect with external libraries and catalog providers.

We are introducing a live connection with Amazon to support growing demand in the marketplace and product discovery.

With just a few spoken words, OpenBOM Amazon Live Connection (including Alexa support) will allow us to get information about any product sold on Amazon and make a discovery of its Bill of Materials and components!

This is a game-changer, people!

For example, this is your Amazon search and you’re looking for WiFi Routers.

All you’ll need to do is copy the product link to OpenBOM to get a detailed look at all the product information to the OpenBOM catalog.

The information will be added to OpenBOM and the Bill of Materials will automatically be generated including all components and related information.

The new OpenBOM Dashboard will allow you to easily visualize and navigate to the right information at the right time, including making purchase decisions.

Needless to say, we are introducing Alexa support, so next time you need to do the same operation, you just need to say “Alexa, make a BOM”.

Conclusion

There is a growing demand for online marketplaces from engineers and manufacturing companies. To make it easy and to streamline product data discovery and purchasing, OpenBOM introduces Live Amazon Connection with Alexa Support. Check this out in the next OpenBOM release.

Best, Oleg
