Sneak Peek: BOM User Experience – Assembly Description and Preview

I wanted to take a minute and share a quick update and a preview of the new feature coming in OpenBOM.

Soon you will be able to get access to top-level BOM images and catalog property directly from the BOM. This feature rocks and I personally love it!

In a nutshell, you can get a list of catalog properties and decide which one to present in the BOM.

The result is here.

The video is here.

Conclusion

Small usability features matter when it comes to streamlining your processes and we are working hard to stay up to speed with our users and customers, listening to them and bringing new features and improvements to the system.

The small feature to show an image and custom property of an assembly from the catalog is a big deal as it will simplify life for many users.

The feature was in high demand and I’m happy we finally made it happen. The feature will be available in the next production update.  In the meantime, you can have a preview.

Best, Oleg
