OpenBOM Free Subscription Changes

OpenBOM is a live platform. We are continuously developing it by bringing new features and functions. Sometimes, it requires us to change the way we provide features in different subscriptions to support our customers.

Let me start with the disclaimer. If anyone is using a purchased (commercial) OpenBOM subscription, then you can skip the portion of the text and move to the end. The change will not impact you – all existing subscriptions will be grandfathered. The change is ONLY coming for free subscribers.

So, here is the change. OpenBOM is announcing big changes to its subscription lineup, pushing the boundaries of CAD file management. Effective from October 1st, 2023, we’re introducing our novel Design Projects feature

This addition promises a solution for anyone who’s battled with managing CAD files across shared drives, Google Drive, Dropbox, and other platforms. If you’ve ever been acquainted with GrabCAD Workbench, you’re in for a treat!

Here’s What’s Changing:

  • 1. Cloud PDM – At the heart of our announcement is the introduction of Design Projects. It’s a simple solution offering cloud file management coupled with unlimited storage. The best part? It will be entirely FREE for any OpenBOM user registered from October 1st, 2023. And it will remind you of GrabCAD Workbench.
  • 2. Design Projects Team sharing. Your entire team, regardless of its size, can now share Data for Design Projects, ensuring seamless collaborations across multiple users.
  • 3. Phasing Out OpenBOM Free User Functions – In light of the newly-added features, we’ve decided to retire some of our previous free product offerings. Specifically, the BOM and catalog data management functions that were previously available in our Free User subscription will be discontinued by October 1st, 2023. You will have to subscribe to Team plan to use BOM management functions.

If you’re on OpenBOM free plan, now is the time to act. With these changes, the Free Plan will no longer support BOMs/Catalog functions from October 1st, 2023. But worry not! For existing free users, we’re extending a SPECIAL ONE-TIME OFFER to switch to our Team subscription, valid only until September 30.

In Conclusion:

I’m very excited about new products and capabilities of OpenBOM such as free Cloud PDM, advanced data management and cloud integrations. It’s been a year of listening to our users and contemplating how we can be the best successor to platforms like GrabCAD Workbench.

While OpenBOM Design Projects might still be in its early stages, we’re committed to growing it into the most efficient, user-friendly, and free PDM function out there. Dive deeper into our latest developments in our what’s new product update from September 17, 2023.

Don’t miss out on our exclusive offer tailored for our existing Free Subscribers, intending to migrate to the Team plan. Remember, this is genuinely a one-time offer, and the window is short.

Warmly,

Oleg
