OpenBOM – Introducing Partners Program for Consulting and Online Services

The world is rapidly changing these days towards remote work and online services. COVID19 is probably a black swan event for moving work online. Before starting OpenBOM, I realized that online consulting can really work. I offered PLM consulting service online and cut the big amount of cost-saving on airplanes, hotels, and travels. At OpenBOM, we’ve seen work moving online gradually for the last several years. By introducing the OpenBOM SaaS application, we realized that there is a real opportunity not only to develop software but also to provide education, help to set up, configure and customize software online.

Working with many manufacturing companies over the course of the last two years, we found the real need for providing more education and help beyond just SaaS applications. Recently we made available a new OpenBOM Training Library. If you have not checked it, please navigate to help.openbom.com to check this out.

Last year, we started a series of educational webinars to help companies to learn more. We plan to continue webinars later this year. You can see the recording of webinars here

I attended a virtual CIMdata PLM forum 2020 earlier this week. One of the trends that was mentioned in the presentation of Stan Przybylinski, CIMdata Vice President, was about changing the role of Service Providers in the PLM industry. He mentioned several factors contributing to these changes-  packaged solutions, cloud, changes in the type of services that needed and current COVID19 crisis contributing to changes in the way service can be delivered.

Here is the next chapter in OpenBOM development. We launching a certified consulting program at OpenBOM. We plan to bring people and companies capable to provide online education and service helping manufacturing companies to learn how to organize product information and manage processes.

We have already a few companies working with us and we are welcome companies and consultants to reach out to us and discuss how we can work together to help your clients and our customers. We are building it as a win-win opportunity for all of us – Customers, Consultants, service companies and OpenBOM.

Conclusion

Services are moving online and we look forward to making OpenBOM a strong foundation for online education, consulting and development services. We’re welcome companies and individuals interested to work with us to contact and discuss possible collaboration.

Best, Oleg

Let’s get to know each other better. If you live in the Greater Boston area, I invite you for a coffee together (coffee is on me). If not nearby, let’s have a virtual coffee session — I will figure out how to send you a real coffee.
