OpenBOM 101 – Vendor List

A Vendor List contains information about companies you’re using as a source of standard parts as well as contractors and suppliers. We call them Vendors. The functionality is very simple.-  to allow to create sets of information about vendors. As everything in OpenBOM, vendor lists are fully flexible. You can add/remove any property.

This is how a typical Vendor List looks like:

In a nutshell, it is granular ‘database’ or parts.

Check the following video for basic information about how to open / add / edit vendor.s

As a future reading, I recommend you information about catalog and production planning. This is where Vendor lists are becoming very useful since you can assign vendor list to OpenBOM catalog and have it pre-set for future production planning and purchase order (see my next videos).

Best, Oleg

PS. Let’s get to know each other better. If you live in the Greater Boston area, I invite you for a coffee together (coffee is on me). If not nearby, let’s have a virtual coffee session — I will figure out how to send you a real coffee.
